Meet the team

Adrian joined DUAL in 2019 as a Senior Underwriter in Melbourne after having spent 7 years at Chubb. He became Assistant Regional Manager in April 2020 and was promoted to Southern Regional Manager in 2023 where he manages our brokers across Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania as well as our Southern Underwriting team based in Melbourne.

Anthony started with DUAL as a financial lines underwriter in 2010, joining as one of the first members of the Queensland office.

Most recently, he has taken on the role of QLD manager where he is responsible for brokers in QLD and NT as well as the management of the Brisbane team.

Chris heads up our Title Insurance team and oversees the delivery of our Title Insurance and Fundamental Warranty Top-Up insurance solutions across the Asia Pacific region.  

 

He is a qualified solicitor with extensive experience in commercial real estate law. Following his eight years in private practice, he has brought invaluable technical expertise to his role at DUAL. After joining the London office in 2018, Chris returned to Melbourne in 2022 to focus exclusively on our expansion across the Asia Pacific region.  

  

As a leader, Chris is deeply committed to mentoring and professional development, ensuring his team is supported, knowledgeable, and empowered to excel in their roles. 

In his 25 years in the insurance industry, Craig has held roles with international insurers and brokers in London and Australia.

In 2008, he joined DUAL as a Senior Underwriter, and in 2009, he established DUAL's Queensland office as a Regional Manager to manage underwriting teams in Queensland and in New South Wales.

He was promoted to the position of Head of Financial Lines (ANZ) in 2022. In this role, he was responsible for managing and overseeing the performance of the Financial Lines underwriting portfolios in Australia and New Zealand. In 2023, he was promoted to the position of Chief Underwriting Officer of DUAL ANZ.

Daniel joined DUAL in 2013 as an Assistant Underwriter in the Financial Lines team and advanced through various financial lines underwriting roles. In 2021, he was appointed NSW Manager, overseeing broker distribution, underwriting and strategic growth. Most recently, he was promoted to Head of Financial Lines for ANZ. 

  

Passionate about innovation and continuous improvement, Daniel plays a key role in strengthening DUAL’s financial lines portfolio. He prioritises fostering strong relationships with brokers and clients, ensuring they receive tailored solutions and exceptional service. Under his leadership, the team remains focused on delivering top-tier results in a dynamic and competitive market. 

Damien has 30 years of insurance industry experience.

He founded DUAL Australia in 2004, building it into a $365m+ GWP business and expanding into Asia Pacific with offices in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Singapore. 

Damien previously was Vice President at AIG and was responsible for AIG’s Commercial Financial Lines & Management Liability Portfolio in the UK, Ireland, and Africa.

Darren has extensive experience in liability case underwriting, portfolio and product management across a diverse range of clients and industries within the mid-tier and corporate arena, including ‘hard to place’. 

 

Former Head of General Liability for QBE, Darren joined DUAL in 2023 and is responsible for the overall technical underwriting, portfolio management and Head of General Liability lines across DUAL Australia. He has a particular passion for servicing his clients and brokers and is committed to leverage his qualifications and experience to support the objectives of his clients. 

Dragana has been part of the insurance world since 2008, starting her career in Professional and Financial Risks.

She joined DUAL in 2019 as Western Manager where she is responsible for the management of our brokers in Western Australia as well as our Western underwriting team based in Perth.

Emily Coates is the head of CSR & Sustainability at DUAL Australia and New Zealand and sits on the DUAL Australia Reconciliation Action Plan Employee Representative Group.

She has worked in the insurance industry for 12 years and has a Bachelor of Business (Insurance) and post graduate degree in organic farming and nutrition.

Having lived and worked in London, Singapore, and now based in Sydney, Jordan joined DUAL in 2024 to lead the M&A Insurance team. With over 10 years of experience in M&A, he has developed extensive expertise in underwriting and managing warranty and indemnity / representation and warranty transactions across the US, Europe, and APAC. 

Kerryn has 22 years of industry experience, starting her career as a general insurance broker. She joined DUAL 15 years ago as an Underwriter in Melbourne, supporting the southern region. Over the years, she advanced to Senior Underwriter and Assistant Regional Manager for the National Business Unit, focusing on partnerships and developing authorised representative networks.

In 2018, she became Southern Regional Manager, leading the Melbourne underwriting team for five years. In October 2023, Kerryn took on the role of Head of National Partnerships.

After relocating to Sydney, her responsibilities expanded to managing the NSW underwriting team and overseeing operations across NSW and the ACT. She combines her expertise in managing key broking partner relationships with a passion for leading underwriting teams. 

Leo has been in the insurance industry for over 38 years, with various management and underwriting roles across Asia Pacific.

In March 2004, Leo founded DUAL Australia with Damen Coates starting with only 6 employees.

Leo has held several roles at DUAL ANZ over the last 19 years including Underwriting Manager, Claims and Risk & Compliance Manager, ANZ Managing Director, and most recently, Executive Chairman for DUAL ANZ.

With over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, Melanie combines deep expertise with a strong focus on service delivery and client satisfaction. Since joining DUAL in 2014, she has been instrumental in growing and managing the Accident & Health portfolio, achieving profitability and business success. 

Melanie excels at providing clear direction and insightful guidance, empowering clients to navigate complex insurance needs confidently. As a leader, she is passionate about team development, ensuring they have the tools, knowledge and support to thrive.

Michael joined DUAL in 2006 as an Underwriter in Melbourne.

He has held several senior roles across Australia and New Zealand following his appointment to the role of Western Australia Manager in 2012.

In 2015, he took responsibility for the Authorised Representative network across Australia, and in 2017, his role expanded to include brokers in New Zealand and the Southern Region.

Michael was appointed Commercial manager, Asia Pacific in 2018, overseeing responsibilities including DUAL’s SME platform business, Portfolio analytics and Marketing/Events.

Michael was promoted to Deputy CEO in September 2022, and has since assumed overall responsibility for People and Client Management.

 

Samuel Rogers is the Head of Cyber Insurance at DUAL focusing on delivering specialised cyber insurance solutions for SME and Corporate businesses in Australia and New Zealand. With over a decade of experience in the insurance industry, Samuel has concentrated on cyber and technology risk since 2015.

Before joining DUAL in 2023, he held senior roles in cyber insurance at Marsh and JLT in Sydney, Melbourne, and London, advising a diverse range of clients, including publicly listed companies. He holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking), a Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice, and a Bachelor of Arts, and is an admitted Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia
