We now include with your DUAL insurance policy your very own DUAL DNA+ forensic coding system.
Forensic coding is a powerful deterrent to thieves and reduces the risk of theft, which is why we’ll reduce your theft excess by 50% if you use it.
Each dispenser of DUAL DNA+ contains a fluid with thousands of microdots in it, each with a unique alpha-numeric code, which is already registered to your business. All you need to do is apply your forensic code according to the guide and display the warning signage to your property and assets.
Police can quickly and easily identify DUAL DNA+ with a UV light and read your code with a basic magnifier. With your unique code, police will obtain ownership verification from the dedicated police database, providing them with irrefutable evidence that helps to secure convictions.
In the unfortunate event of a theft claim, you will be required to provide evidence that you have installed DUAL DNA+ and displayed the signage at the location of the loss in order to benefit from the 50% theft excess reduction. This evidence should take the form of photographic and/or written record kept in a company log, and a company note of what plant the DUAL DNA+ has been applied to.

- Ensure all surfaces to be coded are clean, dry and free from grease, oil or dirt.
- Unscrew the cap then dab the brush along the surface to be marked, gently rotating the brush between your fingers.
- The coded microdots may be visible on light surfaces, which is why it should be applied in concealed areas.
- Shake the dispenser thoroughly for around 30 seconds (and occasionally whilst applying) to ensure that the particles are evenly distributed throughout the liquid.
- Apply the DUAL DNA+ to a number of areas.
- The liquid is white when applied but clears as it dries.When finished, clean the top of the bottle and replace the cap securely.

Head of Construction
Steve is the Head of Construction for DUAL, having joined the company in 2025. He has worked in the insurance industry for 35 years, of which 26 years were spent at RSA and latterly, nine years at Allianz. Steve has a deep technical and market knowledge of the construction and engineering insurance market, having led the underwriting of some of the largest conventional power and renewable energy risks in the UK and Europe.
Steve is married with two daughters and a keen sports fan, enjoying rugby, football, Formula 1 and golf.

Portfolio Director
Nic is the Portfolio Director for DUAL, and joined the company in 2018. He began as a trainee underwriter after graduating with a degree in economics. Nic went on to gain 13 years’ technical expertise and experience in the industry. He has been writing commercial and construction insurance for over 10 years, the last five years spent at DUAL specialising in construction with a substantial focus on underwriting and business development.
Outside work, Nic enjoys running, cycling, surfing, hiking and travel.

Aaron is the Trading Director in the DUAL Construction team, having joined the company in 2020. He started his career as an underwriting assistant back in 2011 and has since gained the Dip CII qualification as well as passing the CMI management course with distinction.
In his spare time, Aaron enjoys keeping fit at the gym, watching football, reading books and spending lots of time with his family at his beach hut and local nature reserves.

Luke is a Senior Underwriter in the DUAL Construction team. He joined in 2016 and has over seven years’ experience in the insurance industry, specialising in underwriting Liability and Contractors All Risk insurance.
In his downtime, Luke plays football and golf. He enjoys cycling and taking holidays with friends and family.

Lucy is the Lead CAR Underwriter in the DUAL Construction team. She joined in 2023 and has over 12 years’ experience in the insurance industry, specialising in underwriting single construction and renovation projects.
In her downtime, Lucy enjoys art and listening to music. She also loves spending time with her two young sons.

Aimee is a Senior Underwriter in the DUAL Construction team, joining the company in 2019 and has over four years' experience in the industry. She became an underwriter specialising in the construction sector after finishing university and is currently studying for her DIP CII qualification.
Outside work, Aimee loves to spend time with family and friends and enjoys long walks with her Yorkshire terrier dog.

Amy is a CERT CII qualified Underwriter in the DUAL Construction team and is currently working towards her DIP CII qualification. She has over six years' experience in the insurance industry and joined the DUAL Construction team in 2022.

Daisy is a Cert CII qualified Underwriter specialising in Commercial Combined and Construction Underwriting. Having started in claims in 2018, Daisy then became a Commercial Insurance broker in 2019. She left broking in 2022 to become a Commercial Schemes Underwriter before joining DUAL in 2024.
Outside of work, Daisy is into sports and going to the gym. She also enjoys eating out with friends/family, going on walks with her dogs and spending time with her ponies.
